How the M&T System Works
The Monitoring and Targeting system is a combination of hardware and software providing Excel logs of energy consumption information and real-time building energy data, all available on the internet. The system is updated every 15 minutes. Targets are established by the bureau service provider during concise energy audits of each building.
What the system enables
- Assessing the relative energy performance of buildings
- Ensuring the benefits from energy efficiency measures are realised
- Identifying and counteracting undue increases in energy consumption
- Informing departments of their energy usage and costs
The three pillars of energy improvement
- Energy Conversion — information on primary energy consumed and total emissions attributable to the Bureau buildings.
- Building Plant — ranks buildings by energy performance to prioritise those for further evaluation and improvement.
- Occupant Behaviour — sets targets for energy performance and evaluates actual performance.
